Since I grew up in the West End of town we went to the Olympic Pool and Dream Land.

I found some pictures of Dream Land I hope will bring back memories.

Cammack, HHS, etc.

Thanks, Old Timer and Terry for showing up! I attended Cammack Elementary in 1st & 2nd grades, (lived on 4th st. west between 8th & 9th ave) then we moved, but I went to Cammack Jr. High for 7th, 8th & 9th grades. Then it was on to HHS. I graduated in 1970, where our ceremony took place at the Keith Albee.

I live in Va. now and haven't been back to Huntington since 2005, but I still have friends and some family there.

Hooray!! A Huntington blog is exactly what is needed so memories can be shared. Thank you "conniewv" for giving us this place!

Anyone with a Cammack background? The school was within walking distance and there were lots of kids in my neighborhood, during the 50's, that went there. I would love to hear from some of them.

I went to high school in Berea, KY (a boarding school). Unfortunately, I did not get to graduate with my old classmates that went on to Huntington High, but I do keep-up with many of them now. The class of '59 will have their reunion this summer.

Was in Huntington in October. With all the changes going on there, I felt kind of lost. Ritter Park did offer some of the old views and brought back some childhood memories of snow sledding and visiting the rose garden in summer.

I look forward to reading the comments of those who remember our hometown from " back in the good old days".......
